The Mosaic at Eastern Market in Detroit

Creator of New York City’s Gansevoort Market and Atlanta’s Chattahoochee Food Works Partners on 25,000 square foot Food Hall Development and Rooftop Bar at The Mosaic at Eastern Market in Detroit.

Local partners team up with Robert Montwaid to preserve and strengthen the presence of the historic district.

Robert Montwaid, the founder and creator of Gansevoort Market in New York City and Chattahoochee Food Works in Atlanta, GA, has signed a lease agreement to create an expansive food hall covering 25,000 square feet plus an additional 4,000 square foot rooftop bar in the Eastern Market District at 3500 Riopelle Street in the former Detroit Water Department building newly named The Mosaic at Eastern Market.

The food hall is the first tenant at The Mosaic at Eastern Market, a $33 million, 100,000 square-foot mixed-used project being developed as the hotspot for creatives and entertainment in Eastern Market. The open-concept format of the Mosaic will feature custom-designed spaces for tenants, soaring 30-foot ceilings, mezzanines, and a meandering corridor that will lead visitors through restaurant offerings, interactive maker space, local food-related retailers, and a creative office component supported by approximately two acres of convenient, onsite parking. In addition, the facility is being reimagined for an exciting new array of tenants from Detroit’s creative community.
